Scripture Reading:  Our theology must always impact the way we live our lives. Simply knowing God's Word is not enough. Knowing Scripture, but failing to apply it to the way we live is not only futile, it is foolish. God promises our faithful obedience to His Word will result in a successful life.
It takes courage to live a godly life in this present world. As Joshua was preparing to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, God gave him specific instructions that would lead to his success. These instructions are the same for us today: Be strong and very courageous - Ephesians 6:10 says to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. When we come to the realization that we don't have to rely on our own strength, nor should we, the ability to stand courageously becomes much easier. Verse 11 goes on to say that we are to put on the full armor of God, so that we will be able to stand firm against the strategies of our enemy. God has provided everything we need to be a strong and courageous warrior. We must make the effort to study God's armor so that we will know how to use it! God's Word is filled with promises and instructions that can provide us with strength and courage to face the spiritual battle we call life. The following are just a few!
