Yet, worldwide, more than two billion people do not have access to this basic resource. Up to 80% of illnesses in the developing world are linked to inadequate water and sanitation. Go Ministries is working to get free, safe drinking water to developing areas in Africa by drilling wells and installing safe water tanks. Your contribution helps to provide access to clean water to the world’s most vulnerable. Every gift helps to restore hope one life, one family and ultimately one community at a time.
Education FundEducation transforms lives, especially for the poor and most vulnerable. According to UNICEF, only two thirds of secondary school-aged children around the world are enrolled in school; and in the least developed countries that drops to one third. Children living in developing countries are unable to attend school for many reasons, but poverty is perhaps the most prevalent obstacle preventing them from receiving an education.
We have seen this to be true in Githurai 45 (also called Githurai Kimbo). Many families are unable to afford tuition, textbooks and uniforms for their children. Go Ministries has partnered with PEFA Kimbo All Nations Gospel Church in Githurai Kimbo to sponsor children in need of educational assistance. Your donation is an investment in the education of a child that has the power to change the direction of his or her life. Ultimately, education has the potential to break the cycle of poverty by equipping children with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the jobs of their future. |
Orphanage SupportDonate Now to Support an Orphanage
Food for one week avg. $350.00 Tragically, there are approximately 3.6 million children that are orphans or otherwise classified as vulnerable in Kenya. Communities in Kenya have traditionally responded to children without parental care by placing them in the care of extended family or community members. However, this method of care is under threat due to increasing socio-economic pressures and declining family foundations, leaving many children at risk of becoming street children. With limited government facilities, the alternative is for children to be placed in private children’s homes or orphanages. Go Ministries partners with two such children's homes in Githurai. The first, Father’s Shelter, currently houses 32 children ranging in age from 1 – 19 years. And, Ebenezer Children’s Home, which houses 35 children ranging in age from 8 – 17 years old. The government in Kenya does not provide support or any type of subsidies to private orphanages. They depend solely on support from the community, churches, and the generosity of individualy like you. To provide food for both orphanages costs an estimated $350 a week. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable children. African Woman SupportGo Ministries has partnered with PEFA Kimbo All Nations Gospel Church to help women break out of poverty by giving them the tools they need to start locally-based businesses. Your contribution helps to provide these women with the supplies, equipment, and/or the inventory they need to begin their business venture.
Dress Makers and Tailors can be a profitable trade in most villages in Africa. However, purchasing a sewing machine is out of reach for the majority. Your contribution will allow us to purchase a sewing machine for a woman who has the ability to sew, but lacks the resources to make such a purchase. Purchase a malaria net
Malaria is an infectious blood disease caused by a parasite that is transmitted from one human to another by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. Transmission occurs between dusk and dawn, when the mosquitoes feed on human blood and inject saliva containing the malaria parasite. If drugs are not available or the parasites are resistant to them, the infection can lead to coma, life-threatening anemia, and death. Some additional facts about malaria include:
