RELEASE OF RIGHTS
"You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:5-11
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
Laying down your rights will be the key to your mission experience and effectiveness. We have become accustom to having things our way - how we want it, when we want it, for our pleasure and comfort. When on the mission field we nee to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ and relinquish our rights to not only these things, but so much more.
Prayerfully consider laying down your rights and expectations on this mission journey. Not to lay them down for better or worse, but to entrust them to the Lord. These rights may seem reasonable, but could still cause dissension on a short-term mission journey. Take time to search your heart and willingly surrender your rights to the Lord. Submit the form below once you have surrendered your rights to the Lord!
